Arrival

I found this mysterious dendritic ice formation on a small frozen over pond one afternoon while on a winter hike with my family. Dappled light drifted across the textured surface as the sun, clouds and swaying treetops mingled above. Curious about this phenomena I later did some research and it appears to have something to do with upward water movement through the hole followed by a repeated freeze/thaw cycle. My digital sir had recently stopped working so I decided to load some black and white film into my trusty film camera, which I used to record this image
